Bradford & Franzke Hawthorn® Rosewood Dreadnought Guitar

Our brand new Bradford & Franzke Hawthorn DT model (double top) dreadnought guitar. This bad boy is constructed of Indian rosewood, Sitka spruce, with maple, black walnut, and Peruvian walnut binding. It features a mahogany neck and an arched rosewood fingerboard. It also features gold plated open style Waverly tuners with snakewood tuner buttons, snakewood bridge pins, and a snakewood end pin. Bone nut and saddle. Double top guitars feature two ultra thin pieces of spruce (1 mm) sandwiched around a thin layer of Nomex cloth (2mm), which provides an ultra light "honeycomb" center layer. The resulting top is just as strong as a traditional solid top but much lighter and thus more resonant and responsive, in addition to having increased volume. Double tops have used on classical guitars for some ten years but only recently have appeared on steel string flat tops. The nut is 1 and 11/16. Inches. The scale is 25 and 5/8 inches. The neck profile is a gentle C shape. The finish is French Polish varnish. Read more on double tops below.
